MODERN, REIMAGINED AND RELATABLE THEATRE. THE BARD WITH TODAY'S STUDENTS IN MIND.
The Flying Bookworm Theatre Company is one of Australia’s longest-running incursion providers. We have been presenting Shakespeare Without Tears performances since 1976 and introduce live theatre to tens of thousands of students across Australia each year.
For many students, we are their very first live theatrical experience. To be a part of such an extraordinary first for so many is an honour and a privilege; We take what we do seriously, and our work, decades of experience and top-notch professional actors ensure our performances are professional, in alignment with your educational needs and truly one-of-a-kind. We introduce the timeless stories, language and characters of Shakespeare through compelling live performances that are engaging, accessible and easy to understand.
Dynamic and relatable, students interact and become part of the story as we encourage and advocate the joys and benefits of reading through the art of theatre.

"The company aims to make Macbeth interesting and accessible for all students and that they did!.. A performance not to be missed."
– K Meeking, Strathmore Secondary College

OUR SHOWS
At The Flying Bookworm Theatre Company, we’re all about de-mystifying Shakespeare. We take his most famous works, the works that have made their way into the classrooms of schools all over the world, and present them through our theatrical incursions so they are easy to understand.
Our current incursions include Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth and Intro to Shakespeare. In each performance students are invited to explore the Bards’ narratives presented on stage, see themselves in the stories and relate to the trials and lessons learned within their pages.
No matter the size of your school or its particular needs, we work with you to ensure every student has an opportunity to experience Shakespeare in a way that resonates with them so they can discover a love of his works through theatre, a deeper desire for reading and a better understanding of the world around them.
